Common sense compliance.
Private holding.
Lakebrook is a Finnish company providing pragmatic GRC and compliance consulting, helping organisations reach compliance that is good enough, documented and sustainable, without Big4-sized overhead. Alongside its consulting business, Lakebrook conducts private holding activity.
Get in touchCommon Sense Compliance
Compliance is a broad set of regulatory frameworks that reach a business from several directions at once: legislation, vendors, major clients and authorities. Most organisations cover the main topics with legal, procurement and external specialists, but a comprehensive picture is often missing. The result is holes in the lines of defence, inefficient manual work and exposure to sanctions, PR risk and tightening contractual requirements.
Lakebrook provides GRC and compliance consulting, supported by modern tooling, including compliance solutions built on top of Inclus. The aim is simple: a level of compliance that is good enough, can be demonstrated, and does not exhaust the organisation.
Confidence
Compliance is sufficient across the business and its entities, not just in the areas that happen to get attention.
Demonstrable diligence
Processes and measures are in place and documented, so reasonable diligence can be shown if something happens.
Liability
The expected level of compliance is met, reducing the risk of gross negligence and of penalties and personal liability following from it.
Operational improvement
Less manual and ad hoc work. People know what to do and avoid creating additional risk when problems arise.
Approach
Step by step, tailored to the business, and based on recognised industry best practices rather than reinvented wheels.
Discovery and mapping
Business and risk profile, applicable compliance areas by sector, geography, size and data sensitivity, and a lightweight gap analysis. Output: a custom relevance matrix.
Baseline and prioritisation
A defined compliance baseline with scope and minimum controls, justified exceptions, and actions classified into imminent, quick wins, high risk and impact, and long-term. Output: a prioritised compliance map.
Roadmap
Start from the baseline and add layers gradually by business need and budget, with KPIs, cost and benefit analysis, and regular recalibration.
